Pumpkins for My Pumpkin



Today was a blast!  The weather was beautiful; the trees were too.  Kennedy was so happy to go to the pumpkin patch.  If you asked her what her favorite part was, she'd say "feeding the goats." If you asked me what my favorite part was, I'd say "seeing my girl so happy."  We bought oats to feed the goats, petted the rabbits, completed the hay bale maze, and walked through the patch.  My grandparents enjoyed watching Kennedy.  Everything would have been perfect if my batteries didn't die on my camera.  Here are the few pictures that I could get. 



So far, this trip has been what I wanted it to be, what we needed it to be...a distraction.  We have been busy visiting, eating, & shopping.  Our days have been full of love and family.  With all this we still miss Brian so much!

USA Here We Come!

For the first time in 3 years I am not ready to get on a plane and cross the ocean.  Do I long for good, inexpensive shopping & American food? YES!  Do I want to see our family? YES! Do I want to leave home for 5 weeks?  Hmmmm....not quite sure.  Kennedy & I are so involved in our community with school, dance, gymnastics, the gym, church, & Bible study.  It is going to be so hard to leave our military family for so long.  At this point, I feel like this trip is something I have to do.  Kennedy hasn't been doing too well since Brian left, and this is going to be a BIG distraction.  I'm hoping this trip will get the months to go by more quickly.  Nov-States & Thanksgiving, December-Christmas & Rome, January-getting our life back, February-K's birthday, March-Spring Camping, and the rest of the months will just fly by.  Goodness, I just want him to come home early!  Positive Thinking!

A weekend at the lake


Unintentionally, our weekend was pretty much spent at the lake.  The Lake Barcis riverbed is our spot to take Missy & Rusty.  Kennedy and I had planned to spend Saturday morning out with the pups.  I threw the ball in the lake for Missy as Rusty ran up and down the bank barking at her. You know it would be a miracle for him to get in the water!  I did get so annoyed a few times that I threw him in.  Anyways, Kennedy spent the morning throwing rocks in the current and learning to climb trees.  I'm not really sure why I encouraged this climbing thing because my heart was pounding the whole time.  I guess she would have figured it out eventually.  We did have a good time before we had to head home to get ready for our afternoon plans.  

Once we got home, we had in invite to attend a bonfire at the lake on Sunday afternoon/night. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to hang out with our friends and enjoy the fire.  We ended up at the same exact spot as we were the day before, but this time we were there with about 30 people and 4 dogs. Friends, food, and wine what more can a girl ask for? Hmmm....maybe her husband.  Lets just say that we had a wonderful time, and can't wait to do it again.

Brian Update #1

I figure I'll have quite a few of these over the next few months, so I'm #ing them due to my lack of creative titles.  Also, these updates may seem vague or in secret code sometimes, but this if for everyone's protection. 


Brian arrived at his final destination on Thursday. From my end, the place is great; it has cheap internet, his own room, no fast food, and a gym.  Brian says it is baron and tan.  The private trailer is absolutely wonderful, and the guy before him left a pretty good set up from what I understand.  A microwave and mini-fridge will need to be purchased; then he'll be set. Brian thinks things will be ok, but he's ready to get busy working.  He has been in "hurry up and wait" limbo since he left Aviano, and time has been moving so slowly.  I know that the internet is a real moral booster for him and all the people he is with.  Seeing Kennedy & I certainly puts a smile on his face. I'm sure that he'll be IMing once he gets his schedule figured out.  (Darling brothers, be on the look out for B.)  

How much longer until we are together again? I am not counting days at this point because it seems like he's already been gone a forever.  I'm sure Brian could tell you days, hours, and minutes that he's been gone.  This transition has been really hard on Kennedy, so please keep her in your prayers.  Its hard to see your little one cry out of sorrow.  B seems to be handling this departure better than before.  I don't know if he's sheltering me because I seem to be handling it worse.  We are doing fine, but the sadness it there.  Often we are covering our feelings with busyness, but We Can Get Through This.

Tumbling Tots




Kennedy is so full of life and excitement these days!  She is excelling in school, dance, and gymnastics, but mostly in friendships.  She is starting to bond with other little girls and really enjoy her time with them.  Those friendships are so sweet!  I see her interacting with the girls and it makes me smile.  As I was describing this milestone to Brian over the phone, I almost started crying.  I can't believe K's growing up so fast!  Brian can tell by her voice that she's changed so much in just over a week.  It is such a joy seeing her grow.

Kennedy's gymnastics teacher had her classes perform at the base bazaar this weekend.  So little gymnasts between the age of 3 & 12 tumbled for our entertainment.   I think the crowd was bigger for these little talents than the bazaar had all day.  I thought Kennedy would get stage fright and freeze up, I'm envisioning Adam & Renee's wedding, but she was a STAR!  All the girls & boys did excellent!  Josh, Jess, and J-bird came out to cheer our girl on!  They were so sweet and made her an award...Thank you!
