Day 10- Songs you listen to when you are happy, sad, hyped, mad

I think I mentioned in my Day 1 blog that music speaks to my heart like nothing else.  For me, songs are memories, and memories have songs.

This could be a really long blog, but here are just a few of my favorite songs.

-Right now, my hyped/exercise song is courtesy of my friend, Andrea...B.O.B's Magic.

-I have a song for Kennedy & Jameson; its Matthew West's "Safe & Sound" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEGDLJinzDE)

-When Brian & I first started dating the song "Good Morning Beautiful" by Steve Holy came out.   We where traveling back & forth from Austin to Louisiana, and we'd sing & sing this song.  I love the memories that come back with a song.  Brian & I still sing this = )

-I don't have a mad song.

-My sad song is Casting Crowns "Praise You In This Storm." When Brian was deployed the first time I heard this song, learned the lyrics, and sang it often.  As a military spouse you try to be strong & independent, but there are times when everything seems to fall apart.  Even when life seems too difficult I know God is there.

I was sure by now,God, that You would have reached down
and wiped our tears away,
stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen
and it's still raining
as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away.

Chorus:
And I'll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to You
and raised me up again
my strength is almost gone how can I carry on
if I can't find You
and as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away

Chorus

I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth

Chorus
