Drama Queen! Oh, fair maiden....

I think there is something in the air or water or food. After talking to 3 other moms today we've decided something must be going on. All of our 3 year olds are being DRAMA! Kennedy literally screamed for 45 min. straight today. As we were leaving her dance class she asked me to carry her. I said, "No, we are almost to the elevator." She starts screaming; she screams while we walk to the shoppette and buy milk then all the way back to the car. She doesn't stop screaming until we drive 10 min. to the other base. I don't know what made her stop, but she finally got over herself. On the way home she tells me to put her song on, and then proceeds to tell me that I'm not her boss. Then she says, "You don't tell me what to do." Well, my favorite saying this week has been "I am the Mom and the boss. You are a child and God tells you to obey." She doesn't want to obey. She is fighting me on everything. Oh, my patience has been tested! I love my girl, but I wonder where the sweetness has gone this week.
This is what I see these days:

(Attitude)

We miss the baby stage. My K was such a sweet, easy going, happy baby. I love my girl with every bit of my heart; where have these 3 years gone. It seems like we want them to grow up, to meet certain milestones, but then it all happens so fast. I couldn't wait for her to sit up, walk, use a spoon, but now what. Where have those moments gone.

Soon she will be starting preschool. We've been doing "homework" at home to help her writing skills. I want her to excel, but I want her to stay my baby. I want the attitude phase to pass, but I hear it only gets worse. Or maybe it gets better for a while and then worse around 11 or 12. Any ideas or suggestions on my Drama Queen? During K's bedtime prayer, we prayed for a happy heart tomorrow.

Brian and Aaron head to Rome tomorrow. I hope they have a good weekend doing male bonding stuff!

Whew...its been a while

So, I definitely go through blogging spurts. I haven't blogged in a week and a half, but nothing of much interest to anyone has happened.

One thing of interest is that I got re-elected as VP of Programs for PWOC. For those of you who don't know, I have been organizing the monthly programs for the Chapel Bible study program on base. I have struggled to find my place here, but when I joined PWOC almost 2 years ago I loved it. God has really blessed me with so much knowledge and wonderful friends through this group.

Brian got back late Thursday evening from his training. We've spent the last 4 days hanging out doing a bunch of nothing. Brian rarely gets to do nothing, so its been good. We've grilled, gone to the lake, watched too much TV, done yard work, and outdoor cleaning. It has been a beautiful, sunny, somewhat warm weekend. I guess we were resting up for Aaron's visit.

Aaron will be here tomorrow or maybe Tuesday. He's supposed to be here tomorrow, but he's trying to figure out how to stay in Amsterdam for a day. We thought we had a schedule somewhat planned, but he's changing things up. I guess he just wants to see as much as he can. Unfortunately, we can't take him everywhere. Things are expensive, and he's only here for 10 days. 10 days isn't long enough to even get a glimpse at Europe. We'd love to show him "our" Italy...the day to day life and the tucked away non-tourist places, but he wants to do the tourist stuff. As of now, Brian will be heading with him to Rome this weekend. I'd like to go too, but things are so expensive. We will see what happens when he gets here, but we will be visiting a few wineries for sure.

More fun stuff shall be happening soon! Check back soon.....
