Irish

Brian left not too long ago, and I'm already planning for our mid-tour vacation (R&R).  I'm so ready for this time period to be over and done with; planning at least offers a fun distraction. We will be in Dublin come June.  While reading about the Irish, I think I may need to move there.  I think they have something going for them; abortion is illegal, divorce is only allowed under strict conditions, they value family, and respect God.  Not so long ago this was America.  Anyways, I look forward to visiting to this beautiful country.  I know Brian looks forward to drinking a nice, cold glass of Guinness.

Going for a run

I've had some prodding from friends to run a half marathon with them in April.  I have never run more than 6 miles in my life, and have never really cared to.  It is something I will probably end up doing, but I'm still in the trial period.  I have been out of the gym for 5 days now due to the holidays, so I thought I'd go for a little run to see if I can even train in 28 degree temps.  I bundled up with thermal undergarments; then I got Kennedy and Missy ready to go.  I just did 3 miles, and things went smoothly considering I was pushing 60 lb. and trying to control a 70 lb. dog.  I do think I need some new running shoes.  Running on the treadmill is one thing, but that concrete is hard on the shins.  Once we returned home Kennedy wanted to take her dog for a run.  First, we had to put on her turtle costume.  I do not understand why she needed to walk her dog dressed like a turtle, but maybe I should take some fashion cues from her if I head to Vienna.  Even if my running is horrible, at least I'd turn a lot of heads.
